AIAS NORTHEAST QUAD CONFERENCE 2017

Hosted annually, the AIAS Quad Conference welcomes post-secondary students from all over North America an opportunity to tour the city of Toronto, take part in engaging workshops as well as hear from industry leading professionals in various seminars. This 3-day event offers an environment for students to explore and discover forward thinking processes and challenges focused on architectural exploration, seeking to inspire these future professionals.


THE EVENT:


With 300+ in attendance, this year’s annual conference had a great turnout of students from top institutions across North America such as; Virginia Tech, Philadelphia University, University of Maryland, Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and Pennsylvania State University among many others. Bringing these keen students together enabled them to collaborate, network and explore ideas to push their thought processes to the next level. 
To structure this large event, the AIAS chose to focus their efforts in four primary categories: Fabrication & Technology, Arts & Culture, Sustainability, and Historical Context.

Students were given the opportunity to choose from a variety of engaging activities both fun and educational from Virtual Reality Workshop, Design Charrette, Architecture Firm Crawls, to Pub Crawls. The various events allowed students to not only collaborate with students from across the nation but also offered the opportunity to explore the city of Toronto, which was a new destination for many.
 To conclude this 3-day intensive event, the AIAS hosted a large ball at Steam Whistle Brewery, where students were able to let loose, party and dance the night away together celebrating this wonderful organization.
